Kory Atcuson named City Clerk

Kory Atcuson (Reduced)

Kory Atcuson, who previously served as the City Clerk for the City of Edmond, has returned as City Clerk again.

“I am excited to return to the City of Edmond at a time when so much growth and opportunity is on the horizon,” said Atcuson, who earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma and a law degree from Seattle University. “I am happy to be rejoining the phenomenal team at the City of Edmond and to serve the community I have been a part of for many years.”

Atcuson, who earned Certified Municipal Clerk status from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in 2017, first joined the City of Edmond in 2015 as an intern. He served as City Clerk from November 2015 to March of 2018. He became the Public Records Officer for the City of Mountlake Terrace in Washington while attending law school and returned to the City of Edmond in September 2022 as the interim City Clerk. Mr. Atcuson has been actively involved with a variety of municipal associations in Oklahoma, including serving as the President of the state chapter of the American Society for Public Administration and a board member for the City Management Association of Oklahoma.

As City Clerk, Atcuson is charged with managing the City Clerk’s Office, which maintains city records, provides support services to the other departments, and serves as a liaison between citizens and elected officials. Among his duties, Atcuson attends City Council and other official meetings; prepares and maintains official meeting minutes; maintains official city records such as ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, and easements; manages records of ownership and burials in Gracelawn Cemetery, and posts agendas of city meetings for public view.

“We are excited to have Kory back,” said Casey Moore, Director of Management Services for the City of Edmond. “He was gracious enough to step in and now we will continue to benefit from his experience and training.”
