Water Line Project will impact Danforth, Broadway traffic beginning June 7

As part of the ongoing Danforth Water Line Project, the intersection at Danforth Road and Broadway will be closed and east-west traffic on Danforth will be narrowed to one lane in each direction beginning at 9 a.m. on June 7.

Northbound traffic on Broadway will not have access to Danforth and will be detoured onto Ayers Street to Boulevard. There will be no turn access onto Broadway from Danforth, which also will narrow to one lane in each direction beginning just east of the Boulevard and Danforth intersection and on Danforth just west of the closed Broadway intersection.

Signals will be adjusted to ensure both northbound and southbound turns will remain available from Danforth onto Boulevard.

Message boards and detour signs will be posted to help provide additional advance notice to the public. Work is expected to take approximately 3 weeks, with cooperative weather.

Work on the project accommodates construction of part of the new 24-inch water line under the eastbound lanes of Danforth. Temporary access will be maintained for the residents in the work zone.

The $9.2 million Danforth Water Line project upsizes the water line running along Danforth Road from the existing Danforth Water tower and soccer Fields to the UCO area. Once complete, the College Water tower will be demolished.
