Edmond Electric introduces its first Terex HyPower™ Hybrid bucket truck. This vehicle has many benefits over traditional bucket trucks from reducing the amount of diesel fuel consumption to the ability to access electric plugs to utilize tools like trouble lights on the job.
“The environmental benefits of this truck were just some of the factors considered when selecting a new vehicle. We are impressed with the increased capabilities that this truck offers for crews like the seamless transition from the HyPower system to the engine running along with the ability to charge through a standard 110v outlet using off-peak electricity,” said Glenn Fisher, Director of Edmond Electric.
By utilizing the Terex HyPower ™ Hybrid bucket truck, the City of Edmond can potentially save 1.2 gallons of fuel per hour. Crews have the ability to operate the boom while recharging the battery and the truck will also keep crews warm in the winter months and cool in the hot summer months without having to start the engine.
The cost of the truck was $207,987.00 and was purchased from Terex™. For more information about this vehicle, please contact Glenn Fisher at 216-7661.
