Portions of Blackwelder Avenue, from Campbell Street to Main Street, will be closed beginning Jan. 30 while work to replace sidewalks and street pavement is completed.
Residents in that area will have access to their homes except when the street is poured directly in front of their homes, and arrangements to allow access to residents during that portion of the project will be made as needed.
Removal and replacement of sidewalks in that area will begin on the west side of Blackwelder between Campbell and Hurd streets before work on the street begins. Once the sidewalk work is complete, that section of Blackwelder will be closed while repouring of the concrete for the street is completed.
The initial portion of the project is expected to take until Feb. 20, with cooperative weather.
Once the first portion of the project is complete, removal and replacement of sidewalks will begin along Blackwelder between Campbell and Main streets. When that sidewalk work is complete, that section of road will be closed while repouring of the concrete for the street is completed.
That final portion of the project is expected to take three weeks, with cooperative weather.
This project is part of the $774,210 Concrete Paving Reconstruction Project-Blackwelder Ave.
